Service to society and pursuit of justice are some of the main missions of universities and other social institutions. In a society as divided as ours is there still such a thing as a public good? We'll explore justice, leadership, and the relationship between personal conviction and public responsibility and together wrestle with how to engage in dialogue across differences, pursue unity, and lead institutions and communities made up of people with diverse beliefs, values, and priorities.

The Vanderbilt Synesis began in the fall of 2015 when a group of students felt called to bring Christian thought to Vanderbilt’s campus, just as member journals of the Augustine Collective have done at other colleges and universities.
