How should we view the Bible? New Testament scholar and theologian NT Wright and Harvard philosopher Sean Kelly discuss one of history’s most influential books at The Veritas Forum at Harvard, 2013. Join us for a conversation on the interpretation of the New Testament in a post-modern era, moderated by Jay Harris, Dean of Undergraduate Education and Harry Austryn Wolfson Professor of Jewish Studies.
The bible is 2 % truth , the bible is based on god , yet people are more keen to read a holy book than to actualy talk to god and the angels and get answers , to lifes , questions ,
If you ask , god if you should read the bible , and or how much of the bible is true , you will get inspired back , directly by god and the angels the answer ,
Once you have asked god, and been inspired tne answer , you wont need the bible , becuase now you are in contact with the , highest purest source of truth ever, god ,
We are taught to read holy books , religion is forced upon us , and even religious people of non christian faith still take in and absorb phrases from the bible or beliefs , and thats because religion always forces its will through others, as a young boy at school , i remmember, bibles being handed out to us , i was not at a religious school yet someone allowed this to happen ,becusee christianity forces its will as all religions do ,
Man kind has taught us at an early age , that we must be religious , to know god and go to church and read a holy book , but in fact this is not true , we need to be spiritual beings , and being spiritual means knowing spiritrual truths , gods truths ,
Even if the bible was all truth , which is not , there is still many questions about god and life , which are not in there , that mankind will want to know being explorative beings , and keen to learn and grow amd expand ,
As god and the angels , told me , we are designed to go to god and the angels , for the answers , to all lifes questions , and get answers backs , we are designed , to have personal relationships with god ,
Many feel they are unworthy , or recieving wisdom , from god direct , that is a part of there karma , and learning , but we are all worthy god is love, and does , not exalt , or look down his nose at us , god does not think , becuase he is so powerful compared to us, that he does not need to repsect us , becuase god does ,
lack of respect comes from a weak human mind , not from god our creator , god is 100 billion years old and 1 billion and 1 million times more , powerful than us and so has over the course , of those 1 billion years grown strong and powerful ,
Galatians 5:13-26 (KJ2000) For, brethren, you have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you be not consumed one of another.
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that you would.
But if you be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, impurity, licentiousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, wrath, selfishness, divisions, heresies,
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you beforehand, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, self-control: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Ing Siaw, What does all this mean in the context of that day, compared to the context of our day in contemporary USA, Australia or whatever country you live in? And, how would you apply the principles, direct teaching and ways of thinking within your religious group, and people at large, who are most likely ‘spiritual’ but who vehemently reject religion? I am interested your responses. Sincerely, Bob
