What is social justice through the Judeo-Christian perspective and how does it compare with other ideologies?
Depending on worldview or “theoretical lens”, social justice can have variable definitions. Humanism, critical theory and Judeo-Christian thought share deep concerns for justice. However, their analysis of the fundamental issues undergirding injustice and their approaches to promoting justice both overlap and diverge. The beliefs, work and life of Mother Teresa and the teachings of the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures provide a rich starting point for exploring these differences.
Join us for a lecture given by Dr. Mary Poplin who will be discussing her experience working with Mother Teresa and the impact it has had on her outlook on social justice.
