Rabbi Seth Wax is the Jewish Chaplain of Williams College. Prior to working at the College, Wax worked at Congregation Mount Sinai, an unaffiliated synagogue in Brooklyn. Before his synagogue work, Wax gained a diverse spiritual background from a variety of institutions. He majored in religion with a focus on Buddhism at Columbia University. His postgraduate research on ethics and professions and his interest in Buddhism made him realize he “especially liked connecting with and counseling people,” leading him to Harvard Divinity School and eventually Hebrew College Rabbinical School, a pluralistic institution outside Boston.
