Dr. Nick Lantinga received his BA in political science from Calvin College, and his MA and PhD from Loyola University, Chicago. During his graduate studies he volunteered at the precinct level in the first community policing strategies in Chicago and also established the first OSHA and EPA compliance efforts at U.S. Robotics. Lantinga has worked in both Democratic and Republican party electoral politics, most recently serving as the Chair of the Sioux County Iowa Republican party. He has frequently provided radio commentary and public lectures on politics and social issues. He has published articles in the areas of political theory and social philosophy and recently edited a volume of essays entitled Christian Higher Education in the Global Context. Currently Dr. Lantinga serves as the Executive Director for the International Association for the Promotion of Christian Higher Education. His wife Dr. Sherri Lantinga serves as the Dean of Social Sciences at Dordt College and they raise their three children in Northwest Iowa.
