Dr. Auger received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Brandeis University and spent a year teaching high school physics in Washington DC before going to UC Davis to gain his Ph.D. in Physics. His research involved the use of gravitational lensing to probe the formation and evolution of the Universe. After receiving his Ph.D. he came to UCSB as a postdoctoral scholar, where he has been working on topics related to galaxy evolution, the growth of black holes, and the nature of dark matter and dark energy.
