Leo Goldmakher is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Williams College, specializing in analytic number theory and, in particular, on character sums. Leo Goldmakher received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Princeton University and his PhD in mathematics at University of Michigan. Following a postdoctoral fellowship and assistant professorship at University of Toronto, he joined the faculty of Williams. He has also worked in several areas of number theory--algebraic number theory, multiple Dirichlet series, random matrices and random graphs, probabilistic number theory, and the burgeoning theory (pioneered by Bhargava) of higher composition laws.
