Kevin Hamliton, an artist and a scholar, is Associate Professor of New Media in the University of Illinois' School of Art & Design. His work focuses on how technology shapes modern life. Prof. Hamilton teaches courses on digital imaging, time-based and interactive media, critical theory and history of media, and collaboration. His research areas are technoscience, social media, telepresence, pedagogy, cybernetics, and methodologies of collaboration.

Prof. Hamilton received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and his SM in Visual Studies from MIT. He began teaching at the University of Illinois in 2002 and has created numerous exhibits in the "real" world and the "virtual" world, in addition to several lectures across the nation.
