Heidi Lene Maibom is Professor of Philosophy of the University of Cincinnati. Maibom has held positions at Washington University in Saint Louis and Carleton University, and fellowships at Princeton and Cambridge Universities. In addition, Maibom has edited several books on empathy and published papers on: responsibility, psychopathy, interpersonal understanding, empathy, and emotions. She is currently writing a book on taking other people's perspectives. She has taught courses on Contemporary Moral, Social, and Religious Issues, Philosophy of Mind, Psychology, and Cognitive Science, Philosophy of Emotion, Philosophy of Religion, and Philosophy of Mental Disorder. She will teach a course on the Meaning of Life at UC in the Fall. She earned her Ph.D in philosophy at University College London.
