Dr. Estes holds a PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Nottingham, UK. Prior to his postgraduate work in theology, which includes his doctorate and two Masters degrees (MDiv and ThM), Douglas earned an undergraduate degree in Chemistry. He has worked in the field of analytical chemistry, and has co-authored two winning NASA contract proposals. He has written for a number of journals including Faith and Mission, Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, and Review of Biblical Literature. He is a document editor for the Online Critical Pseudepigrapha, and a member of the Society of Biblical Literature. His first book was The Temporal Mechanics of the Fourth Gospel . He subsequently published Questions and Rhetoric in the Greek New Testament, Better Habits, Better Life: How to Coach Yourself for Life Change, The Questions of Jesus in John: Logic, Rhetoric and Persuasive Discourse, and SimChurch: Being the Church in the Virtual World.
