Dan Blazer is J.P. Gibbons Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Vice Chair for Education and Academic Affairs, Duke University Medical Center, Professor of Community and Family Medicine, Duke University Medical Center, Head of the University Council on Aging and Human Development, Duke University Medical Center and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, University of North Carolina. He wrote book called: Freud vs. God: How Psychiatry Lost Its Soul and Christianity Lost Its Mind. Dr. Blazer’s research has focused on the prevalence of physical and mental illness in the elderly. Dr. Blazer received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University, his M.D. from the University of Tennessee, and his M.P.H. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina.
