In Search of the Historical Jesus
UC Santa Barbara 2000

Summary: In this talk Dr. Blomberg takes his audience through a chronological tour of historical Jesus research. After distinguishing between what he calls "popular mythology" about Jesus and scholarly research, he discusses the methodology, presuppositions, and implications of Jesus research from Albert Schweitzer to Rudolf Bultmann and the New Quest, to today's current resurgence of research that is being called the Third Quest. Dr. Blomberg highlights various key thinkers, and spends the latter portion of his talk discussing the work of NT Wright and the significance of Jesus in both the ancient Jewish cultural milieu and the present-day.
Topics: Christianity

Mr. Blomberg mentions a handout at the beginning of his presentation. It would be really great if this handout were available for download. Is that possible?
