Madeleine L'Engle
Popular author, teacher, educator, poet, artist, and thinker, Ms. L’Engle is a unique voice in the conversation between Christianity and the Modern world. As a writer she is willing to explore the mysterious areas of faith, morality, and humanity, and her thoughts prove challenging to many Christians. Beginning her career in theatre, Ms. L’Engle eventually turned to full-time writing, and her classic "A Wrinkle in Time" won the Newberry Award in 1963. She has written over 40 books for children and adults alike—many dealing with issues of Christian spirituality. She was educated at Smith College, and now lives in New York where she works as librarian and writer in residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
