A Dialogue on Freedom in 21st Century America from a Religious and Secular Perspective

Wesleyan University

How can the American society cohere and freedom be preserved? The current political climate and social incidents have led many to question and examine what freedom of speech, religious liberty, and freedom, in general, mean in the 21st century of the United States. And this year's Veritas Forum, we will discuss the political, social, cultural, and religious implications of religious liberty. Michael Wear, the founder of Public Square Strategies and former Faith Outreach Director in the Obama Administration and re-election campaign, will be in dialogue with Michael Roth, President of Wesleyan University. Dr. Mary Alice Haddad, Chair of College of East Asian Studies and Professor of Government and Environmental Studies at Wesleyan University, will be moderating the Forum. The presenters will share their past experiences and world-views on religious liberty in college campuses and beyond.
