Dr. Richard Dawkins (Fellow of the Royal Society and Charles Simonyi Chair for the Public Understanding of Science at Oxford University) and Dr. John Lennox (Reader in Mathematics and Fellow in Mathematics and Philosophy of Science, Green College, University of Oxford) discuss the validity of claims made about the existence of God in Dawkins' book, The God Delusion. They cover topics including the nature of faith, religion's interface with science, and the moral implications of both Atheism and Christianity. The debate took place at the University of Alabama Birmingham on October 3, 2007. Light refreshments and a time for discussion will follow.
International speaker and Christian author Stuart McAllister will join us at Georgia Tech to interact with us on the topics of culture, relativism, truth, post-modernism, and morality. Participants will be invited to join in discussion and a Q&A session afterwards.
Are there things in the world that we can know for sure? What about moral questions? Philosophical questions? Religious questions? Can we really ever claim to know any of it for sure? Join us for an evening of discussion and Q&A with Robert Bowman to share your ideas, ask your questions, and find out what Christianity really claims. Tables of 6-8 people will discuss and develop ideas in an interactive environment, then have the opportunity to present questions to Mr. Bowman.
Internationally acclaimed religious scholar, theologian, and philosopher, Dr. William Lane Craig will speak to us on the topic of religion's interaction with morality. Is this a serious issue? Can we be moral beings without a God? Dr. Craig will address these issues, and he will also be taking questions at the end of his lecture.
