Is Science Enough? Thinking Reasonably about the Meaning of Life

Satyan Devadoss William G. McCallum
University of Arizona
21 February 2012
What is the meaning of life? An age-old question... now answerable by science? Has the promise of the Enlightenment been fulfilled? Satyan Devadoss, award-winning math professor from Williams, argues that just as in physics we needed to transcend classical mechanics with quantum mechanics, in philosophy we need to transcend the Enlightenment to arrive at something new. This something, Devadoss argues, allows for the integration of faith with science in a new way. Prof. Devadoss will speak about mathematics, science, and his own journey of faith as a believing Christian. *****FOR THE FULL TALK, please click "Video Clip #2"
