Suffering is indeed a difficult aspect of life to deal with - not only for those who experience the suffering in a very personal way, but also for Christians who question the nature of God and even God's existence because of this suffering. How are we, as faithful followers of Christ, to cope the existence of this suffering when it seems (a) no possible good can come of it, and (b) it drastically overwhelms the joyful parts of life?

In a geographically changing world, one where tsunamis and earthquakes radically alter the earth, we are reminded that there is something much more powerful going on that we have no control over. I believe in Jesus, and yet the mechanics of how the Earth work are scary and daunting to me. How would you express hope in His control, when the reality is that the Earth could just swallow us all?

You spoke a lot about your certainty of the existence of God, but not so much about the relationships and daily life with him. Here is a very hypothetical question: If you knew that there was a God, but no life after death, would you still choose to follow him, or just acknowledge he is there?
