Are we significant figures?

In the Veritas Forum at Dartmouth, 2010, physicists Marcelo Gleiser (Dartmouth) and Ian Hutchinson (MIT) discussed the meaning of human life. Check out the video here: http://www.veritas.org/Media.aspx#/v/974.

Who do you agree with more? Gleiser or Hutchinson? Why? And how do you support your views? How would you answer one of the last questions of the Forum: what could take place that would remove you of your stated reason for finding meaning in the universe?
