You say you started "exploring" Christianity. Did you do this by seeking other people to disciple you, spending time in the word, having quiet times to talk to God, all of these, or a different way? In other words, how did you seek God?

Once I began to explore Christianity, I sought all these things. I have learned from many people and books over the past 17 years; I try to take all these insights back to Scripture for verification. There have been so many generous people who have helped me. I am particularly grateful for the grace to love the Word of God and for a very holy person who disciples me. The Word does teach, cleanse and heal us and staying in it is critical to continued growth. I have learned it is important to find a true discipler, one who not only encourages me but is not afraid to be hard on me when I need to be corrected. Sometimes we try to be so nice to one another that we forget that Jesus named the spirit of satan that was working in Peter to his face. I struggle with prayer but believe that God most likes it when we just come to Him as we are with all our concerns and lay them at his feet and when we pray for others. I am sustained by the prayers of faithful friends.
