What is the foundation for human rights?

May 31, 2010 at 08:00 PM
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Hoofdgebouw (KC-07)
Presenters: Nicholas Wolterstorff, Professor of Philosophical Theology at Yale Divinity School
Arend Soeteman, Philosopher of Law and Professor Emeritus, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
Domenica Ghidei Bidu, Committee member CGB, Ambassador of the Forum for Democratic Development, and Chairman of the African Diaspora Policy Centre

Nicholas Wolterstorff will defend the notion that human rights are not secure without a foundation in God. This idea will be contested and the practical relevance will be discussed in a panel moderated by Prof. dr. James Kennedy.

The perfect ingredients for an inspiring and challenging evening about a very foundational and very current issue. Join us and be challenged! And don’t hesitate to bring your friends. The evening will conclude with drinks.

This event is free, and open to the public.

This event is in cooperation with VUConnected.
