Broken Promises? Christianity, Jesus, and Justice (a sometimes epic story)

January 14, 2013 at 07:00 PM
SC Johnson 127
Presenters: Syd Hielema, Chaplain, Redeemer University, Hamilton Canada

The Christian Church has not always succeeded in living in the way of Jesus in the world. Join Dr. Syd Hielema (Redeemer University) as he takes an unflinching look at the Church’s record in addressing issues of social justice in our world. Dr. Hielema will speak about our culture’s skepticism of the church’s ability to work for justice and the church's struggle to faithfully embody Jesus' teaching.

I got to sit in on one of Syd Hielema's workshops at a worship leaders' conference a few years ago. Such a sharp mind and humble spirit. His words stick with you. Can't wait to hear what he has to say!
