February 7, 2007 at (TBD)
(location TBD)
Presenters: Rosalind Picard, Founder and Director of the Affective Computing Research Group, MIT Media Laboratory
Alice Rhee, Television Producer, Journalist

What defines us as 'human'? For decades scientists have dreamed of creating artificially intelligent machines that would behave like human beings. Recent advances allow robots to mimic human mobility and problem solving capacity—but what about emotion? Is it possible to make a robot feel? For over a decade, MIT Professor Rosalind Picard has been trying to do just that. Emmy Award winning journalist Alice Rhee will interview Prof. Picard, tonight, after her presentation.
